This is why you should go to your nearest library first, before to the bookshop. You should always go to a bookstore of course! But libraries should get some credit too. I mean, if you want a new, good, book that you've been thinking about buying for weeks, of course go to the bookshop. But if you just want a good book, go to the library! you can find loads of cool books there and there are loads of fun activities that go on that you might not know about. A great chance to meet new people. Its also a nice quiet place to relax and read a good book. There are also (most likely) computers there, so if you have an assignment you need to finish, you can go on there and finish it in a quiet space.
The reason I keep saying quiet is because it is!!!! Its so peaceful! I stay there for hours. Just reading. They also have magazines which are new! I even got my copy from the library BEFORE my subscription copy came of my favourite magazine (total girl)!!!
Lets just say I convinced you and you'll start going to the library. (yay!!) Here are some tips!
Get a library card. These are important if you want to borrow something (which i'm sure you know, just confirming.)
Look for a notice board (or TV) showing which events are on that you can join then see the front desk and tell them you would like to participate.
Look for the section you want to read (I would pick children's or YA) and sit down.
there's sometimes a cafe where you can sit, but otherwise, sit where you're comfortable, and read!
go to the desk and ask for the computers if you need them!
sometimes there are games there (like chess, checkers, ect) so go to the desk and ask for their help.
Look at the notice board as your leaving and see the events or businesses there (they sometimes advertise there) and you might see some good things there.
Thanks for reading, I hope now you see how important librarys are and how amazing they are! Leave a comment answering the question:
How many hours do you spend in the library/bookshop?
Bookshops are good too!
