Now, this is a Bronte Mettlestone book, the third one. but my favourite thing about these books are that you can read from anywhere in the series. I talked to the author in my book club and right in the middle of the bookclub, the pre-copies arrived at her doorstep! i saw the cover and immediately i wanted to get my hands on it when it came in stores. I read this book over and over. then i thought to myself, 'I need to review this book!'
Plot: Esther is the cousin of Bronte Mettlestone. She feels like she is 'just Esther.' her cousin is a brave adventurer, her younger sister Astrid can tell when someone is lying, and her older sister, Imogen, is really smart. When a new teacher comes to the school and seems to hypnotise everybody to thinking she's amazing while giving Esther really bad school reports.
My thoughts: I thought this book was the best! it was a page turner and when i was supposed to be asleep, i was reading it!! (don't worry I got to sleep and I was fine the next day) Esther came to be my friend (weird but true). When i ended the book i almost cried and turned it over in frustration and read it again! Lol I know.
Characters: the characters were so well described i thought il'd better put a whole paragraph on it. They (as mentioned) were like my friends. the characters were like the glue in this story. My favourite character was Imogen because she was funny, bossy, and had my name!!
The pictures: It is a thick book, but still has pictures!!!! yay!!! The pictures are... they look like they've been quickly been sketched but thats ok because its a style of drawing and its really cool actually. the front cover is THE BEST THOUGH. I'm not kidding. My favourite cover.
My final thoughts: This book was amazing and cool and... and... and... page turning!!!!!!!
Have a good day everyone!! (or night if you are sitting up in bed reading this (lol) Make sure to leave a comment if you liked it, and follow my instagram if you have not already! (@kidsbookreviews)
