This book is one of my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE books. It touches slightly on anxiety feelings, but its a subtle touch. it also has some going back in time moments! something that i noticed though, was that it was a little predictable. Thats all that was not good, but loads of stuff wad good.
Plot (not spoilers I promise):
Hattie is a child of divorce (or The big spit as she calls it!). She does week - about. this is the first thing she talks about. She is also got a little sister called Ivy that gets a lot of attention. It seems she's not cared about. She goes to a school with lot's of rules as well. but on a full moon one night, she goes back in time and finds a new friend called Hypatia. She and her share a secret library in Humming bird house which is an abandoned mansion the council plans to tear down. She realises she must save Hummingbird house at all costs.
My thoughts (honest thoughts I promise):
I think its a crazy good book! I keeps re-reading it because its just so good. I recommend this book for sleepovers, I have no idea why, Its just a comforting book to me. I mostly go home early from sleepovers, but this book makes me feel better. LOL! anyway, a bit predictable, but, still, you cant expect a perfect book!
Recommendation:
I recommend this book for anyone! it really is for all ages. you can get different things out of it at different times. The main character is 11 so maybe wait till over 6 to read it if you want to understand the character.
